Project to create a pair of trousers representing the storage of chemical energy in plants and animals.
Sample developments, experimenting with different pleating techniques, potential details and colours.
Research into how plants and animals store and use energy, experimental collage of scientific diagrams to create an absurd process.
Simplified, stylised diagrams to represent the ideas I was researching from scientific textbooks in a unified and visually pleasing way.
An illustration of my final pair of trousers in the style of the above diagrams. (left) An illustration of my idea for the next project, made at home, using digital collage. (right)
Final piece meant to represent ideas of overwhelming distraction, scale toned back due to lack of materials.
Research drawing for above project, investigating ideas of focus and a lack thereof.
Attempting to represent distraction with photography, pages of a book inside a clear plastic box.
Torso piece made in a week exploring the effects of weight and gravity on fabric and how they can be used to hold a garment to the body.
Weights counter each other to hold the fabric in shape while draped over the body while also pulling the fabric down at opposite sides of the body to keep it in place.
Planning illustrations (above).  Working technical drawings, figuring out how to make each piece (below).
Two illustrations of final piece, one experimenting with digital methods, the other trying to show the direction of pull from the weights on the garment.
2 drawings of a box of arranged objects.
Drawing of a sculpture inspired by initial drawing of cranes done on location.
Performance project exploring character development, alter egos, and placing your work within a fictional narrative.
Excerpt pages from a zine made exploring the possibility for collaboration with nature within design, as well as the products of its exclusion.
Textiles project reinforcing and bringing focus to something very simple and delicate by lining leaves with fabric.
Oil painting from a photo reference. 1.4m x 1m
